Aluka EP Launch at The Toff in Town (Nov 25, 8pm).

Amidst accompanying Clare Bowditch on her current tour, Melbourne’s own Aluka will launch their debut EP in the idyllic surroundings of The Toff on Wednesday 25 November. A far cry from the average Andrews sister’s A cappella group, the trio incorporate intricate harmonies, body and vocal percussion and time changes in their original songs that reflect human condition and emotion.

Aluka ask the audience to challenge their idea of what it is to be a band as they beguile using just their voices (and some occasional clicking). Aluka’s strength lies in their ability to blend their voices flawlessly (you will wonder who is singing which part) but at the same time their individual vocal personalities are highlighted. This is sure to be a truly delightful evening. Supporting Aluka will be, gypsy folk with a wink of cabaret outfit,The Tiger and Me.
